I hope you have all managed to keep safe and well. It is a fortnight since my last update and much has happened. As you will have no doubt seen in the media ‘Lockdown’ is now being relaxed for the hospitality sector.
It seems to have been an age in coming and has certain provisos. Simply it means we have to ensure the protection from COVID-19 for you and our staff in line with Government advice. It comes at some cost, but it allows us to begin reopening Nanteos. I suppose I feel it should be thought of as continuing the safety of our guests and staff, but with added measures against a new risk. After all this is what we do in the hospitality sector!
So where are we? The Mansion doors will be open to guests on 14th July on a bed and breakfast basis only. The Mews house will be available on a self-catering basis only. This will of course include the usual welcome basket. I am assuming that public travel may still have slight restrictions for a while, but we will have to adhere to Government guidelines.
Life after ‘Lockdown’ will be slightly different at Nanteos as we have decided to take the business in a slightly different direction. Whilst still open for B&B we will be concentrating more on Weddings, events and private functions. Afternoon teas will still be available initially on a Sunday only, but will have to be pre-booked by telephone or email, and the Mews will continue to be available for self catering.
Details of the measures we have introduced for opening and the foreseeable future can be found in the menu on this page of our website, and I will continue to give regular updates to the business model over the coming weeks.
So the sun rises again over Nanteos and we look forward to welcoming you back.
